North Long Lake in Minnesota is located 7 miles north of Brainerd MN and can be reached on the west side via Highway 371, and from the east side via County Road 3.
North Long Lake acerage is is more than 6143 acres with a maximum depth of 97 feet. North Long Lake has a water clarity of 12.7 feet. The Central Minnesota resort lake has four public accesses:
- Located on the north shore of Highway 371 bay, off of Ojibwa Rd.
- Located on the Northwest corner of Highway 371 Bay – off highway.
- Another is located on the north east corner of Merrifield Bay
- The last is a carry-in access on Birchdale point road.
Iven's on the Bay restaurant is located on the southwest corner of Highway 371 bay. Ivens on the Bay is known for fine dinning and is a Minnesota local favorite. There are numerous lake resorts and Minnesota campgrounds on North Long Lake. Some of which are Sullivan’s, Hidden Paradise, and Train Bell Resort.
North Long lake is known as the lake for swimming. With the maximum depth of 97 feet, 65% of the lake is 15 feet or less which provides ample areas for children to play all day in the water.
North Long Lake also has excellent fishing. It is known for Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye and pan fish. Fishing is good on North Long Lake year round.
